McNerney for Congress releases second television ad

Dublin, Calif -- Today, the McNerney for Congress campaign launched its second television commercial, entitled “Dad.”

The ad can be viewed here:

Told from the viewpoint of Jerry’s son Michael, a veteran who joined the United States Air Force in response to the September 11, 2001, attacks, the commercial highlights a few of Congressman McNerney’s many accomplishments in working to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s troops and veterans, as well as military families.

In his first term, Congressman McNerney helped pass the largest increase in veterans’ benefits in history along with a new G.I. Bill to guarantee a college education for our returning heroes. He wrote the bill to help veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan cope with traumatic brain injuries and wrote a provision of the recent housing bill to help military families facing foreclosure stay in their homes.

McNerney also introduced legislation to increase combat pay for soldiers serving our nation in harm’s way overseas.

The new ad follows the endorsement of several prominent veterans from across Northern California, including Dave Norris, the immediate past State Commander of the California Veterans of Foreign Wars.

At the event, Commander Norris said of McNerney, "There is no stronger supporter of our veterans than Jerry McNerney. His dedication comes from a deep sense of doing what is right. "
